Los representantes del PP en la FEMP que asistían a la Comisión Nacional de Administración Local (CNAL), que este martes presidía el secretario de Estado de Cooperación Territorial, Fernando Puig de la Bellacasa, se han levantado de la sesión cuando iba a tomar la palabra Pedro Castro, presidente de la FEMP.
En declaraciones a los medios, la vicepresidenta de la FEMP y alcaldesa de Lizarza, Regina Otaola, ha señalado que su actitud es consecuencia de las palabras que en su día pronunció el presidente de la Federación Española de Municipios y Provincias, quien insultó a los votantes de la derecha , aunque, posteriormente, se disculpó.
Otaola ha insistido en que es necesario que dimita y ha pedido al PSOE que rectifique y elija a un nuevo presidente, ya que de lo contrario su partido no acudirá a los actos de la FEMP.
La CNAL trataba la trasposición de una directiva comunitaria a las leyes españolas y a las ordenanzas municipales, pero en el tercer punto se iba a informar sobre la gestión de la FEMP en 2008 y el PP entendía que lo iba a defender Castro, por lo que sus representantes se levantaron, aunque finalmente el que intervino fue el portavoz del PSOE en la Federación, Ramón Ropero.
