Ni rastro. Los helicópteros y los buzos de rescate estuvieron durante todo el viernes peinando la zona, pero no tuvieron éxito. El Ministerio de Fomento aseguró que ha puesto "todos los medios disponibles" en esta búsqueda, pero ni así. Los tres miembros de Salvamento Marítimo que el jueves a las 20.36 desaparecieron cuando su helicóptero cayó al mar seguían sin aparecer al cierre de esta edición.
Todavía se investiga las causas del siniestro. El helicóptero, un Helimer 207, salió para hacer unas "prácticas rutinarias" en la costa almeriense a las 18.10 horas, y a las 20.36 perdió el contacto con la torre de control. Los equipos de rescate se movilizaron y divisaron bengalas rojas a unas cinco millas náuticas de la costa. Allí encontraron vivo a uno de los tripulantes y restos del fuselaje. El rescatado es el operador de grúa del aparato, Alberto Elvira, que evoluciona favorablemente de la hipotermia que sufrió. Los desaparecidos son: el piloto y comandante de la nave, José Luis López de Alcalá; el copiloto, Kevin Holmes, neozelandés pero vecino de Granada, y el rescatador Íñigo Vallejo García, de Sevilla.
Para encontrar al resto de la tripulación se organizó un dispositivo sin precedentes de siete helicópteros y cuatro embarcaciones, según destacó el ministro José Blanco, que ayer cambió su agenda para desplazarse a Almería, al igual que hizo el presidente andaluz, José Antonio Griñán. Los restos de la nave, que según Salvamento Marítimo era la más nueva de la flota, podrían estar a unos 100 metros de profundidad.
Fuentes de los servicios de coordinación del operativo dijeron a Público que la búsqueda no se interrumpiría en toda la noche, utilizando los medios que pudiesen trabajar sin luz natural.
