Unas 3.000 personas salieron a la calle este viernes en el puerto de Salalah, en el sur del sultanato de Omán, para exigir a las autoridades reformas. Era la mayor manifestación desde el inicio de las protestas, hace dos meses, contra el régimen de Qabus bin Said.
"El pueblo de Omán no tiene miedo de protestar el tiempo que sea para conseguir reformas. Esto es lo prinmero. Luego, habrá que llevar a juicio a los corruptos funcionarios del Gobierno", dijo el clérigo Amer Hargan, que dirigía la marcha. Los manifestantes pedían mejores salarios, más empleos y el fin de la corrupción.
La semana pasada, Qabus bin Said prometió ayudas por 2.600 millones de dólares y, el mes pasado, a creación de unos 50.000 empleos. "¡Aún estamos esperando los trabajos que nos prometieron!", dijo un manifestante. "¿Cuánto tiempo tendremos que esperar?"
