Documentos difundidos ayer por Wikileaks demuestran que los gobiernos de EEUU y Reino Unido temen que grupos terroristas tengan acceso a material nuclear en Pakistán.
"Nuestra mayor preocupación no es que un radical islámico robe un arma nuclear, sino que alguien dentro del Gobierno de Pakistán facilite material suficiente de forma gradual con el que se podría fabricar una bomba", dice en un informe la embajadora de EEUU en Pakistán, Anne Patterson.
El informe secreto revela que EEUU considera incomprensible la actitud del Gobierno de Islamabad. A pesar de la gravedad de la situación económica del país, "Pakistán está fabricando armas nucleares a un ritmo superior al de cualquier país en el mundo".
Rusia comparte el temor de los países occidentales. Un diplomático ruso, citado en uno de los informes, explica que los islamistas pretenden tener acceso a las armas nucleares: "Hay 120.000-130.000 personas implicadas en el programa nuclear y de misiles. No hay forma de garantizar que el 100% de ellos sea gente leal y de confianza", dice.
