El presidente del Gobierno y secretario general del PSOE, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, ha hecho hoy un llamamiento a todas las fuerzas parlamentarias, especialmente al PP, para que sea 'capaz de tender la mano' y consensuar con el Ejecutivo la planificación energética del país hasta 2030.
Zapatero ha participado hoy en la reunión de la Comisión Ejecutiva Federal del PSOE, la primera que se produce después de que el Gobierno anunciara la semana pasada el cierre de la central nuclear de Garoña en el año 2013.
Ante sus compañeros de partido, Zapatero ha justificado esa decisión, pero ha insistido en aclarar que compete exclusivamente a Garoña y no al conjunto de las centrales nucleares del país.
Según fuentes socialistas presentes en la reunión, Zapatero ha argumentado que la decisión tiene en cuenta el interés general del país y las necesidades energéticas, así como los intereses económicos de la zona y, sobre todo, de los trabajadores de la planta.
Ha sido, de acuerdo con las fuentes, una postura coherente con el programa del PSOE y con los postulados del Gobierno, que pone de manifiesto que los socialistas 'cumplen con la palabra dada'.
La dirección socialista ha acogido la noticia de manera muy positiva, de acuerdo con las mismas fuentes, y ha calificado la decisión de cerrar Garoña de responsable, sensata y equilibrada.
