El XXIV Festival Iberoamericano de Teatro (FIT) de Cádiz comienza hoy su andadura en esta capital andaluza, donde se representarán 31 obras interpretadas por veintiocho compañías de doce países.
Entre los actos más destacados de esta edición del FIT se encuentra el estreno de la última composición del bailarín y coreógrafo español Nacho Duato para la Compañía Nacional de Danza (CND), "Kol Nindre"; la entrega del X Premio FIT Atahualpa del Cioppo al Teatro Hispano de Miami (Estados Unidos) y el homenaje a la actriz colombiana Patricia Ariza Flores.
El festival tiene como objetivo mantener el diálogo entre el teatro español y el iberoamericano, y se centra en la "autoría contemporánea", la basada en textos no teatrales y las nuevas versiones de clásicos universales, según la organización.
El Gran Teatro Falla, la sala Central Lechera y el Baluarte de Candelaria volverán a ser sede de las representaciones en Cádiz.
A ellos se les unirán los espacios abiertos de la Plaza del Palillero, la Plaza de Mina, la plaza de la catedral y la plaza Ingeniero de la Cierva, que acogerán tanto pasacalles como representaciones, dentro del proyecto Teatro en Libertad.
Esta noche, la concejala de Cultura de Cádiz, Rosa Torres, será la encargada de inaugurar esta nueva edición, que se desarrollará hasta el 31 de octubre.
La obra encargada de abrir el festival es "El Testigo", una representación basada en un relato del escritor gaditano Fernando Quiñones que está coproducida por la Consejería de Cultura y por el actor Rafael Álvarez 'El Brujo'.
