La apuesta española para la 82 edición de los Óscar, "El baile de la Victoria", se quedó fuera de la lista de nueve producciones finalistas para optar al premio de mejor película en lengua extranjera, según informó hoy la Academia de Hollywood.
El filme del director Fernando Trueba había sido seleccionado por la Academia del Cine de España a finales de septiembre para representar al país en la próxima ceremonia de entrega de estatuillas frente a títulos como "Mapa de los sonidos de Tokio" y "Gordos".
Una carrera en la que previamente había sido descartada "Los abrazos rotos" de Pedro Almodóvar, que fue nominado a los últimos Globos de Oro y ganó la semana pasada el premio "Critic's Choice Awards" de la crítica estadounidense.
Entre los títulos que optarán a ser candidatas al Óscar destacaron "El secreto de sus ojos" de Juan José Campanella, que representa al cine argentino, y la cinta peruana "La teta asustada" de la directora Claudia Llosa.
Asimismo, también pasaron el último corte antes de las nominaciones, que se anunciarán el próximo día 2 de febrero, "Samson & Delilah" (Australia), "The World Is Big and Salvation Lurks around the Corner" (Bulgaria), "Un Prophète" (Francia), "Ajami" (Israel), "Kelin" (Kazajstán) o "Winter in Wartime" (Holanda).
La gran favorita para llevarse el galardón en la próxima ceremonia, sin embargo, será la película alemana "The White Ribbon" (La cinta blanca) de Michael Haneke, que se alzó el pasado domingo con el Globo de Oro de película en lengua extranjera y cuenta en su haber con la Palma de Oro del festival de Cannes.
La 82 edición de entrega de los Óscar tendrá lugar el próximo 7 de marzo en el teatro Kodak de Los Ángeles.
