La compañía alemana de ferrocarril Deutsche Bahn (DB) consiguió el pasado año volver a producir importantes beneficios pese a la crisis económica y financiera que sacude Alemania.
"En el año de negocios de 2009 DB ha logrado escribir con fuerza números negros", declara el presidente de Deutsche Bahn, Rüdiger Grube, en una entrevista adelantada hoy por el semanario germano "Focus".
Aunque no precisa cifras exactas, Rüdiger habla de beneficios antes de impuestos superiores a los 1.000 millones de euros y comenta que solo el programa de ahorro "React 2009" ha mejorado los resultados del consorcio en 600 millones de euros.
El presidente de Deutsche Bahn señala igualmente que el transportes de mercancías, que sufrió un retroceso del 22 por ciento, ha superado su cota mas baja.
Rüdiger Grube revela que, antes esos resultados, está previsto hacer grandes inversiones en la compra de nuevos convoyes de tres.
"Para a la compra por concurso de 300 nuevos trenes (de alta velocidad) ICE por valor de 5.000 a 6.000 millones de euros la calidad será el punto central", comenta finalmente Grube, quien señala que esa adquisición se decidirá este verano.
