El Consejo de administración de Pretesa, sociedad propiedad del Grupo Prisa, ha decidido cesar la actividad de Localia TV, donde trabajan entre 250 y 300 personas.
El cierre se aplicará el 31 de diciembre en las emisoras de las que Prisa sea propietaria en su totalidad. Aquellas que estén asociadas mantendrán la programación durante un año más.
La decisión, adoptada ayer miércoles, se toma "ante las dificultades e incoherencias que presenta el marco regulatorio actual, por saturación de licencias TDT y el desordenado desarrollado del sector, que imposibilitan la viabilidad del proyecto".
No es la única causa: la caída de los ingresos derivados de la publicidad, "sin perspectivas de recuperación a corto y medio plazo", también ha contribuido al cierre.
En un comunicado, Localia TV denuncia "el incumplimiento de los plazos en la concesión de licencias" y "la arbitrariedad política con la que se han resuleto algunos concursos de TDT regional".
La red de televisiones locales impulsada por el Grupo Prisa, comenzó sus emisiones a principios del año 2000 y en la actualidad cuenta con un centenar de emisoras ubicadas en las principales ciudades españolas.
