En ocasiones el destino depara oportunidades inesperadas. Es lo que le está ocurriendo a Guaita. El guardameta comenzó la temporada como tercer portero del Valencia, pero las lesiones de César y Moyá posibilitaron que el futbolista de Torrente copara ayer titulares en la prensa nacional e internacional.
Tras firmar una excelente campaña la temporada pasada en el Recreativo, Guaita regresó este verano a casa. En un principio su rol iba a ser secundario, pero ni Emery ni el club le dejaron salir del Valencia.
"Cuando se marchó, él ya sabía que iba como tercer portero, pero no le quedaba otra opción que volver. El club no quería dejarle salir cedido otro año más", desvela Córcoles, el gran confidente de Guaita durante su estancia en Huelva.
El central del Decano es amigo del portero ché desde las categorías inferiores del Valencia. "Teníamos unos 18 años cuando coincidimos en el B. Pasamos dos temporadas juntos. Me acuerdo que siempre decía que triunfaría en el Valencia", recuerda Córcoles. Después de aquella etapa, el defensa emigró a La Masia, en busca de mejor suerte, mientras que Guaita se quedó en casa donde, incluso, llegó a debutar hace dos temporadas, ya con Emery en el banquillo.
En el Recre Guaita se terminó de formar como portero y forjó grandes amistades. "Se llevaba muy bien con Jesús Vázquez, Aitor, Mora, etc. Íbamos muchas tardes a su casa en Aljaraque para jugar a la consola. Es fan de los juegos de guerra y, sobre todo, de los de tenis. Es buenísimo", indica Córcoles. "Es un tío excelente. Humilde, le gusta disfrutar de los amigos, y muy bromista", le define su ex compañero.
Ahora, con 23 años, tiene la oportunidad de triunfar en su club. El martes se consagró en la casa de su ídolo, Van der Saar. No pudo intercambiar la camiseta con el holandés porque no jugó.
