Actualizado:El paro se incrementó en 44.436 personas en el mes de febrero respecto al mes de enero elevando así la cifra de desempleados a 4.008.789, una barrera que no se superaba desde abril de 2016, reflejo del impacto de la tercera ola de la pandemia.
Según ha informado el Ministerio de Trabajo, el aumento del desempleo es consecuencia "del impacto en el ámbito laboral de las severas restricciones impuestas por la tercera ola de la pandemia".
En cuanto a la afiliación, la Seguridad Social en febrero registró 18.850.112 afiliados medios, 20.632 cotizantes más con respecto a la media de enero. Con relación a febrero de 2020, el Sistema perdió 400.117 trabajadores afiliados medios (-2,08%), de los cuales 289.055 correspondieron solo a la hostelería.
El desempleo aumentó en los servicios en 36.877 personas (1,32%), en la agricultura en 6.174 personas (3,33%) y también entre el colectivo de personas sin empleo anterior en 5.872 personas (1,70%).
Por comunidades autónomas, únicamente descendió en tres regiones: Euskadi (- 1.702), Extremadura (-1.517) y Galicia (-756). Subió en las 14 restantes, encabezadas por Andalucía (14.418), el País Valencià (8.363) y Comunidad de Madrid (7.417).
En cuanto a la contratación, los contratos temporales descendieron un 8,35% en febrero respecto a enero, mientras que los indefinidos aumentaron un 6,63%. En variación interanual, ambas modalidades registraron un descenso superior al 20%.
La vicepresidenta tercera del Gobierno y ministra de Asuntos Económicos y para la Transición Digital, Nadia Calviño, subrayó este lunes que los meses de enero y febrero "están siendo malos en el ámbito laboral" y que la prioridad ahora mismo debe ser la de conseguir que las personas que han perdido su empleo vuelvan al mercado laboral y que los trabajadores en expedientes de regulación temporal de empleo (ERTE), que rondan los 900.000, se reincorporen a sus puestos de trabajo.
