La tenista valenciana Anabel Medina manifestó hoy a su llegada a Valencia que, tras alcanzar el título en la modalidad de dobles femeninos en Roland Garros, junto a Vivi Ruano, ahora centrará sus esfuerzos en lograr la victoria en Wimbledon, en el tercer grand slam del año.
"Ha sido algo muy grande. El año pasado fue una alegría enorme, pero este año ha sido aún más, ya que supone una continuidad", dijo Medina, quien también logró la medalla de plata en los Juegos Olímpicos de Pekín.
Respecto a Wimbledon, la tenista de Torrent comentó, que tras la victoria en París, ahora es el objetivo más cercano, por lo que la semana próxima participará en un torneo en Londres para prepararse bien para esta cita sobre hierba.
La tenista española aseguró que se complementa "muy bien" con Vivi Ruano. "Ella juega muy bien en la red, mientras que yo en el fondo de la pista hago que ella se pueda mover mejor arriba", indicó en ese sentido.
Además, volvió a repetir que aunque respeta lo que decida Vivi Ruano ante una posible retirada, considera que su compañera de dobles mantiene "un alto nivel" para seguir en la competición.
