La siderúrgica Arcelor-Mittal dijo el miércoles que ha propuesto la suspensión temporal de producción en varias plantas en España y que iniciará la negociación de un expediente de regulación de empleo (ERE) temporal.
"A la vista de la continuidad de la excepcional coyuntura económica actual, resulta necesario proseguir con las medidas de suspensión y optimización de la producción al objeto de asegurar una adecuada adaptación de la Sociedad a la situación real del mercado", dijo el grupo en una nota de prensa.
Entre las plantas afectadas por la suspensión de producción se encuentran una de sinterización y un horno alto en Gijón en mayo, la paralización temporal de la planta de productos largos de Villaverde (Madrid) y la bajada del nivel de producción al 50 por ciento y con paradas temporales en la planta de Sestao.
Como consecuencia, el grupo dijo que iniciará un proceso de negociación con los sindicatos sobre las condiciones generales de un expediente de regulación de empleo temporal para sus plantas en España a partir de la segunda quincena de abril.
Las medidas en España, que afectan a plantas vinculadas a productos planos y largos del fabricante de acero, forman parte de un estudio más amplio de suspensiones de producción en varias plantas de la compañía en Europa.
