Un hombre sospechoso de estar implicado en el secuestro de tres cooperantes españoles el pasado mes de noviembre en Mauritania, fue detenido el viernes en la misma carretera entre Nuadibú-Nuakchot donde tuvo lugar el ataque original, informaron fuentes de seguridad.
El sospechoso ha sido identificado como Bou Ould Eweimar, un guardia de seguridad que trabaja para la compañía de telecomunicaciones local Mauritel. Ha sido trasladado a la capital, Nuakchot para ser interrogado.
Los tres cooperantes fueron sacados del todoterreno en el que viajaban desde la ciudad costera de Nuadibú hasta Nuakchot, cuando iban en una caravana de la ONG barcelonesa Acció Solidaria con ayuda humanitaria para varios países africanos.
Al Qaeda en el Magreb se ha atribuido la responsabilidad del secuestro de los tres españoles en Mauritania y de un ciudadano francés en Mali. El Gobierno de este país cree que los cuatro están retenidos en su territorio.
Albert Vilalta, secuestrado junto a Alicia Gámez y Roque Pascual, está herido en una pierna aunque está recibiendo tratamiento, según la información facilitada por el Ministerio de Exteriores español a finales de diciembre, que está trabjando "con prudencia y discreción" para la liberación de los cooperantes.
Acció Solidària mantiene una concentración semanal los miércoles en Barcelona hasta que se resuelva la situación.
