El 3 de marzo verá la luz el nuevo álbum de Gorillaz, "Plastic Beach", del que ya se puede escuchar en la radio el tema "Stylo", para el que han contado con la colaboración de Mos Def y Bobby Womack, y que estará disponible para la descarga digital la próxima semana.
Conocido como el grupo virtual más famoso del mundo, Gorillaz se formaron en 1998 y desde entonces han vendido 12 millones copias de sus dos álbumes de estudio "Gorillaz" (2000) y "Demon Days" (2005), y han recibido varios Grammy.
Gorillaz lo forman Murdoc, Noodle, Rusell y 2D, cuatro gamberros procedentes del cómic manga convertidos en estrellas mediáticas, detrás de los que en realidad se esconden dos músicos de envergadura como son Damon Albarn, de Blur, y Jamie Hewlett, de Dan The Automator.
Albarn y Hewlatt buscaron refugio en estos personajes del cómic, iniciando así una carrera paralela a la de sus grupos, con la intención de experimentar con la electrónica, el rap, el hip-hop, el pop, el rock y el punk, creando un coctel con el que baten récords de ventas.
Incluso el año pasado, tras triunfar en la música, la banda dio el salto al cine protagonizando "Bananaz", la película documental dirigida por Cery Levy.
