Masataka Shimizu, presidente de la empresa Tokyo Electric Power (TEPCO) que opera la accidentada planta nuclear de Fukushima, salió hoy del hospital y volvió al trabajo, informó la compañía nipona.
El ejecutivo japonés, de 66 años, fue hospitalizado en Tokio el pasado 29 de marzo a causa de una elevada presión arterial y mareos, cuando la crisis nuclear de Fukushima estaba en su apogeo.
En esa planta nuclear del noreste de Japón se está tratando de enfriar sus reactores desde el grave terremoto y posterior tsunami del 11 de marzo, que causó olas de hasta trece metros en la central que la dejaron sin electricidad.
Shimizu apenas ha aparecido en público desde que se desató esa grave crisis, que tiene en alerta al mundo por el temor a una incontrolable fuga radiactiva.
La última vez que se vio en público a Masataka Shimizu fue el 13 de marzo, un día después de que se divulgase la gravedad de la situación de la central nuclear, que abastecía de electricidad a gran parte de la zona metropolitana de Tokio.
Con anterioridad, TEPCO había informado de que su presidente se había sentido mal desde el día 16, aunque seguía al tanto de la crisis y se encargaba de dirigir las tareas que se llevan a cabo en la planta de Fukushima Daiichi.
