El periodista asturiano Miguel Somovilla ha sido nombrado responsable de Comunicación de la Real Academia Española (RAE), puesto de nueva creación, según anunció hoy la institución.
Miguel Somovilla (Arriondas, Asturias, 1956) ocupó entre 2004 y 2009 la Dirección de Comunicación de RTVE, empresa donde asimismo fue jefe de Cultura de los Telediarios (1990-1996) y coordinó el cambio de imagen corporativa llevado a cabo en septiembre de 2008.
Somovilla ejerce el periodismo desde 1975, y antes de vincularse a la radio y televisión pública, donde permaneció dos décadas, trabajó en distintos medios impresos, como "El País", "Cambio 16", "La Voz de Galicia", "La Nueva España", "Asturias" y "Diario de Mallorca", según recuerda la Academia en una nota.
El nuevo responsable de Comunicación de la Real Academia Española es también autor del documental "Alberti, pintor de versos", emitido por TVE en 1996, y coautor del volumen "Ángel González, verso a verso" (1985).
