La vicepresidenta económica del Gobierno, Elena Salgado, ha asegurado hoy que las pensiones están "absolutamente" garantizadas y que no corren ningún riesgo, pese a un informe de la Comisión Europea que avisa de que España tiene que acometer reformas en el sistema de protección social.
Tras asistir al pleno del Congreso, Salgado ha recordado que ese informe habla del año 2060, momento en el que, según vaticina el estudio, el gasto en pensiones supondrá el 15 por ciento del PIB (ahora es el 9 por ciento), lo que situará a España entre los países miembros de la UE con una posición presupuestaria de "riesgo alto".
Pero Salgado ha restado importancia a esos augurios y ha argumentado que el Pacto de Toledo "está trabajando" para garantizar el mantenimiento del sistema.
A este respecto, ha recordado que la Seguridad Social sigue haciendo contribuciones al fondo de pensiones, porque sigue estando en superávit; "así es que hay tiempo, mucho tiempo por delante", ha apostillado.
En este contexto, ha sostenido que el informe de la Comisión Europea no genera "ninguna inquietud", antes de contestar: "Por supuesto que no", al ser preguntada de nuevo si las pensiones futuras estaban en riesgo.
