Las personas con deficiencias auditivas siguen sin poder disfrutar en igualdad de condiciones de los canales de televisión, tanto públicos como privados, así como del cine, el teatro o un museo, ha denunciado hoy la ONG "CLAVE atención a la deficiencia auditiva".
Con motivo de celebrarse hoy el Día Internacional de las personas con Discapacidad, esta asociación benéfica ha querido llamar la atención de la opinión pública sobre la preocupante situación en la que se encuentran los afectados de este colectivo que sufren desde la sordera profunda a algún grado de mala audición.
CLAVE ha explicado que el problema respecto a la televisión es más acuciante entre los niños, ya que en las programaciones infantiles no se ofrece en ningún momento con la posibilidad de subtítulos.
Sin embargo, CLAVE ha puesto como ejemplos positivos de accesibilidad en Madrid el Teatro Fernán Gómez o el Museo Nacional Reina Sofía, aunque "siguen siendo una excepción a una realidad que sigue haciendo 'oídos sordos' a las reivindicaciones de esta comunidad", han destacado en un comunicado.
Según un informe presentado por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE) en 2008, en España hay declarados más de dos millones de personas que sufren problema de sordera y que, pese a la magnitud de la cifra, siguen constituyendo una "comunidad invisible", ha añadido CLAVE.
