La querella contra el ex presidente del Gobierno José María Aznar por su implicación en la guerra de Irak de 2003 ya está en marcha. Se presentará el 27 de marzo en la Sala de lo Penal del Tribunal Supremo. La promueve la Plataforma Juicio a Aznar y, según avanzó ayer la Cadena Ser, la suscribirá Julio Anguita. El ex coordinador de IU confirmó a Público la noticia.
En la cúpula de la federación también se ha abierto el debate, según reveló ayer a este diario el actual líder de IU, Cayo Lara: “Desde la plataforma me lo han comentado, pero no puedo adelantar si firmaré o no. Esta semana lo discutiré con la dirección. Ya he dicho –recalcó– que ilegalizar partidos es peligroso. y que por qué, siguiendo ese mismo argumento, no podríamos ilegalizar a quienes invadieron Irak. Razones sobradas para querellarse contra Aznar hay, desde luego”.
El escrito de la plataforma, que también suscribirán Paco Frutos, líder del PCE, o el politólogo Carlos Taibo, podría inculpar a otros cargos del Ejecutivo del PP, como los ex ministros Federico Trillo o Ana Palacio. Según la querella, Aznar habría podido incurrir en tres delitos: crímenes de guerra, violación de la Constitución –que confiere al rey la potestad de declarar la guerra– y por la relación entre la participación española en la invasión y la masacre del 11-M.
