La ex sargento de EEUU Adrienne Kinne, que denunció que el hotel Palestina, de Bagdad, donde murió el cámara de Telecinco José Couso fue designado "objetivo militar" por el Ejército de su país, ha tenido que retrasar por motivos laborales su comparecencia en la Audiencia Nacional, prevista para mañana.
El juez de la Audiencia Nacional Santiago Pedraz, que lleva la investigación sobre la muerte del reportero, había citado mañana a Kinne como testigo en relación con la denuncia que hizo en un programa de televisión de EEUU de que el hotel Palestina, donde se alojaba la prensa internacional que cubrió la guerra de Irak, fue clasificado como objetivo militar.
La declaración de la ex sargento ha sido aplazada sin una fecha determinada, a la espera de que tramite el permiso de trabajo que necesita para desplazarse a España, han confirmado fuentes jurídicas.
Sí acudirá a testificar mañana, como estaba previsto, el general de Brigada de la Guardia Civil Gonzalo Jar Couselo, autor de un artículo de investigación jurídica sobre la muerte de Couso.
Durante el día de hoy han pasado por el despacho de Pedraz los periodistas Jon Sistiaga y Olga Rodríguez, que presenciaron la muerte de Couso, junto al también cámara de televisión Jesús Quiñonero, quienes han acusado a la Sala de lo Penal de la Audiencia Nacional de haber "retorcido" sus testimonios para zanjar la investigación sobre el ataque de EEUU en el que murió su compañero.
Con estos nuevos testimonios, Pedraz quiere reactivar la investigación sobre la muerte del cámara, ocurrida en Bagdad el 8 de abril de 2003, después de que la Sala de lo Penal revocara el pasado 13 de mayo el procesamiento de los tres militares norteamericanos supuestamente implicados en su muerte con el argumento de que no se daba "el elemento intencional" en la agresión.
