Los servicios de inteligencia de Australia temen que Israel esté preparando un ataque para acabar con las instalaciones atómicas de Irán que pueda llevar a una guerra nuclear, según documentos filtrados hoy por WikiLeaks.
Australia transmitió esa preocupación a Estados Unidos y subrayó que no querría verse arrastrada al conflicto, de acuerdo a cables diplomáticos estadounidenses publicados en exclusiva por el diario australiano "Sydney Morning Herald".
Camberra también ve las ambiciones nucleares de Teherán como una estrategia para disuadir las amenazas desde el extranjero y no creen que la República Islámica sea un "estado fallido".
WikiLeaks ya reveló que varios países árabes, entre ellos Arabia Saudí, pidieron a EEUU destruir el programa atómico de Irán antes de que el régimen de los ayatolás consiguiera la bomba.
Estados Unidos, de acuerdo a las mismas filtraciones, opina que Teherán ya ha obtenido misiles norcoreanos avanzados que le permitirían atacar capitales europeas y desarrolla proyectiles de mayor alcance.
Washington también cree que Israel sería capaz de llevar a cabo un ataque unilateral para destruir las centrales nucleares, pero no contempla que lo vaya a hacer en un futuro cercano.
