Las bolsas europeas abrieron el jueves con un repunte del 1,3 por ciento, rebotando tras el fuerte descenso de la sesión anterior, después de que el presidente estadounidense Barack Obama moderara su tono sobre las restricciones que se van a imponer a la banca.
Los bancos, muy castigados en la última semana por la preocupación acerca del plan de la Casa de Blanca de reducir la toma de riesgo de las instituciones financieras, se encontraban entre los principales ganadores del jueves.
UBS subía un 2,3 por ciento, Barclays se anotaba un 3,8 por ciento y Societe Generale ganaba un 2,4 por ciento.
Además del discurso de Obama, el mercado subía tras conocerse en la noche del miércoles que la Reserva Federal reiteró su compromiso de mantener los tipos de interés en niveles cercanos a cero durante un periodo prolongado de tiempo.
A las 08:05 GMT, el índice FTSEurofirst 300 de principales acciones europeas subía un 1,3 por ciento a 1.027,44 puntos. El índice había caído un 5,2 por ciento en las seis sesiones anteriores.
