La Comisión Europea (CE) anunciará hoy su decisión de autorizar el plan español de ayudas al cine ya que cumple con las normas comunitarias, informaron fuentes diplomáticas.
La CE señalará que el plan "cumple completamente" con las normas de la Unión Europea sobre ayudas de estado para promover la diversidad cultural, añadieron las fuentes.
Indicaron que la decisión del Ejecutivo comunitario llega después de que sus servicios de Competencia hayan encontrado que la queja "no tiene suficiente fundamento" como para bloquear el plan de acuerdo con las normas de la UE.
La Comisión Europea había enviado una carta en noviembre pasado a las autoridades en las que solicitaba información tras una carta enviada por el colectivo "Cineastas contra la Orden".
Ese grupo alegaba supuestas contradicciones entre la Ley del Cine y la orden ministerial que regula la distribución de ayudas contempladas en esa norma, así como su incompatibilidad con la legislación europea.
"Cineastas contra la Orden", que agrupa a más de 200 directores, productores, guionistas, actores y técnicos, considera que el nuevo reparto de ayudas favorece a las grandes producciones, en detrimento de las de menor talla.
La orden ministerial entró en vigor tras su publicación en el BOE del pasado 24 de octubre, aunque su aplicación estaba pendiente de que Bruselas diera luz verde a su aplicación.
El Ministerio de Cultura y la propia CE ya consideraron a finales del año pasado entonces que el análisis en la Comisión no suponía el "bloqueo" de las ayudas sino la ralentización del habitual análisis para certificar su cumplimiento de la normativa europea.
