El consejero delegado del Santander, Alfredo Sáenz, dijo que el sistema financiero puede superar la crisis "más sano y equilibrado" de lo que estaba antes siempre y cuando se hagan las cosas bien y se eviten medidas impulsivas y poco meditadas.
Durante su intervención en el XVI Encuentro del Sector Financiero organizado por Deloitte y el diario ABC, Sáenz destacó que cualquier medida que se tome ahora, cuando vivimos la primera gran crisis global de la historia, quedará grabada a fuego".
Entre otras, el consejero delegado del Santander alertó tanto sobre reacciones reflejas de carácter proteccionista como frente a medidas tales como la recapitalización de las instituciones no solventes.
Así, Sáenz destacó la importancia de recompensar las actuaciones prudentes y se mostró contrario a "regalar dinero sin condiciones" a aquellas entidades que han cometido errores.
