El italiano Valentino Rossi, seis veces campeón mundial de MotoGP, probará un Ferrari de Fórmula Uno histórico los próximos 20 y 21 de enero en Montmeló.
A causa de las restricciones reglamentarias con las pruebas de los F-1, Rossi deberá utilizar un monoplaza de 2008, el F2008, que estará equipado con neumáticos lisos de GP2.
Las primeras pruebas de Rossi con Ferrari se produjeron en 2006, cuando se consideró la posibilidad de que piloto pudiera correr en la Fórmula Uno. Posteriormente el italiano, que reúne nueve campeonatos mundiales de motociclismo, volvió a probar otro Ferrari en 2008.
El director deportivo de Ferrari, Stefano Domenicali, prometió a Rossi que la escudería italiana le permitiría pilotar nuevamente un monoplaza de la marca en el caso de que conquistara un nuevo título mundial, como así ocurrió.
