El presidente de la Junta y del Partido Popular de Castilla y León, Juan Vicente Herrera, ha dicho hoy que confía en que del Congreso Nacional que celebrará en Valencia este grupo político salga un partido "unido y fuerte".
Sobre el debate interno en el PP, Herrera ha manifestado, en declaraciones a la cadena Ser, que los 10,3 millones de votantes del Partido Popular se estarán preguntando "si se habrán vuelto locos sus dirigentes", a pesar de lo cual ha confiado en que la situación desemboque en el fortalecimiento de sus estructuras.
Preguntado por el lema del Congreso -"Crecemos juntos"- el líder del PP de Castilla y León ha señalado que significa una "espléndida declaración de principios".
Asimismo ha recalcado la valía del programa electoral con el que el PP concurrió a las elecciones generales y ha recordado que el responsable de su elaboración fue el ex ministro Juan Costa, que ayer expresó en el Comité Ejecutivo Nacional de este partido su opinión discordante con el presidente y candidato a la reelección, Mariano Rajoy.
Para Herrera, Rajoy es "hoy por hoy" el mejor candidato para liderar el PP, tanto por méritos, como por trabajo realizado, compromiso y presencia territorial.
