Juan Marsé, que el próximo jueves recibirá el premio Cervantes de manos del Rey, ha depositado hoy su legado personal y secreto en la Caja de las Letras del Instituto Cervantes, que permanecerá bajo llave hasta el 21 de abril de 2029.
"Hay otras cosas, pero la más importante es el secreto de la receta de la escalibada, un plato catalán muy rico", dijo con un humor el autor de "Últimas tardes con Teresa" ante el aluvión de cámaras y periodistas que presenciaban el acto, junto a la familia del escritor.
Lo cierto es que el legado que ha depositado Juan Marsé (Barcelona, 1933) en la cámara acorazada de la sede central del Instituto Cervantes es secreto y permanecerá bajo llave veinte años.
Caffarel le ha entregado a Juan Marsé una llave simbólica y un certificado acreditativo de dicha entrega en la caja de seguridad número 1.533.
En este acto, presidido por la ministra de Cultura, Ángeles Gonzlez-Sinde, y por la directora del Instituto Cervantes, Carmen Caffarel, Juan Marsé ha estado acompañado de su familia, su mujer, hijos y nietos, quienes han visto como el escritor depositaba su legado.
Caffarel le ha anunciado al autor catalán que la Biblioteca del Instituto Cervantes de Shanghai llevará su nombre, una ciudad mítica y muy evocadora en la obra de Marse, quien tiene una novela con el título "El embrujo de Shanghai".
Marsé es el cuarto escritor galardonado con el Premio Cervantes que participa en esta tradición en la que también han tomado parte con anterioridad Francisco Ayala, Antonio Gamoneda y Juan Gelman.
Ana María Matute, Carlos Edmundo de Ory, Antoni Tàpies, Margarita Salas, Alicia Alonso, Luis García Berlanga, Cristobal Halffter y Manuel Alexandre son otros de los nombres que han cedido su legado a la Caja de las Letras.
