El Patrullero de Operaciones Especiales "Petrel-I" llega hoy al puerto de Vigo junto con el pesquero venezolano "San Miguel" que interceptó cuando transportaba 3.600 kilos de cocaína a unas mil millas de noroeste de Canarias.
En la operación fueron detenidos los quince tripulantes del pesquero, dos de ellos de nacionalidad española, informó la Agencia Tributaria en un comunicado.
Los agentes asaltaron el pesquero venezolano con base en Isla Margarita a bordo del Patrullero de Operaciones Especiales "Petrel-I" en aguas internacionales la madrugada del pasado sábado 31 de mayo, en una zona comprendida entre las Islas Azores y las Canarias, tras obtener la autorización correspondiente.
El pesquero, que se encuentra en condiciones precarias, carece de documentación y navegaba sin bandera, transportaba 144 fardos de cocaína, de 25 kilos cada uno, que alcanzan un total de 3.600 kilos de esta droga, cuyo valor en el mercado podía haber superado los 200 millones de euros.
De los quince tripulantes del "San Miguel" detenidos, doce son venezolanos, dos son españoles, residentes en Galicia, y el otro es italiano.
La operación ha sido desarrollada y dirigida por el Juzgado de Instrucción número 7 de Vigo a cuyo puerto se prevé que llegue hoy y donde los detenidos serán puestos a disposición de la juez.
