El australiano Casey Stoner, campeón del mundo de Moto GP y vencedor en el Gran Premio de Qatar, se mostró "razonablemente optimista" ante la siguiente cita del Mundial, el próximo fin de semana en el circuito de Motegi, en Japón.
"En Motegi he subido al podio en todas las categorías (2° en el 2003 en 125, 3° en el 2005 en 250, 2° en el 2008 en MotoGP), pero otras veces no fue tan bien. La pista siempre me ha parecido más adecuada para los coches que para las motos, con todas esas frenadas bruscas y continuas aceleraciones, pero en general no me desagrada, si estás a punto puede ser muy divertida. Yo soy razonablemente optimista", declaró Stoner.
Según el campeón australiano, "la puesta a punto de los test ha funcionado bien en pistas muy diferentes y por lo tanto también debería ser una buena base para Motegi".
"En cualquier caso no daremos nunca nada por descontado y mantendremos la concentración trabajando duro", señaló.
Japón se prepara para recibir la cita de MotoGP en período primaveral. Durante los últimos años el circuito de Motegi ha sido en cambio una de las últimas carreras de la temporada, permitiendo que tanto Casey Stoner en el 2007 como Valentino Rossi en el 2008 sentenciasen en esta prueba el título mundial.
