El yen se mantenía bajo presión el viernes en Asia al reducir el mercado posiciones largas, mientras que la libra esterlina alcanzaba su nivel más alto en tres semanas tras unos comentarios alentadores por parte del Banco de Inglaterra.
El euro y las monedas con tipos de interés más altos como el dólar de Australia y de Nueva Zelanda subían a sus niveles más altos en lo que va de año frente al billete verde al crecer el apetito por operaciones de mayor riesgo tras nuevos datos económicos y resultados de empresas favorables en EEUU.
El dólar australiano se veía también respaldado por una noticia de prensa en el sentido de que el gobernador del Banco Central de Australia estaba de acuerdo con que la firmeza de la economía australiana podría empujar la divisa australiana hasta 1,10 dólares.
"Las divisas con tipos de interés más altos se ven respaldadas por el creciente optimismo acerca de la economía global. El yen no pertenece a este tipo de divisas y, tras la fase de apreciación, vemos ahora una corrección", dijo Ayako Sera, de Sumitomo Trust & Banking.
A las 0820 horas, el dólar cotizaba a 1,4918/21 dólares por euro y a 90,86/90 yenes.
