El premiado productor, director y guionista David Chase, creador de la serie Los Soprano (The Sopranos) contará el nacimiento y desarrollo de la industria de Hollywood en A Ribbon of Dreams.
Este programa, que tendrá formato de miniserie, supondrá el retorno de Chase al canal de cable HBO donde triunfó Los Soprano, historia mafiosa ganadora de cinco Globos de Oro y tres Emmy.
A Ribbon of Dreams se ambientará en 1913 y seguirá las andanzas de dos hombres, un ingeniero y un vaquero de violento pasado, en su afán por convertirse en pioneros de la industria del cine.
Los protagonistas darán sus primeros pasos como empleados de D.W. Griffith y se cruzarán en su camino hacia el éxito con John Ford, John Wayne o Bette Davis, entre otras estrellas del pujante sector, aún en mudo y blanco y negro. El programa tomó su nombre de una frase de Orson Welles, 'una película es un lazo de sueños'.
'El regreso de David Chase es una gran noticia para los espectadores de HBO', aseguró el presidente de programación de la cadena, Michael Lombardo. 'Las posibilidades épicas de esta miniserie serán perfectas para sus dones creativos', añadió el ejecutivo.
HBO aún no precisó cuantas horas se grabarán para la miniserie ni cuándo será su debut. Además de Los Soprano, entre los títulos de Chase se encuentran series como Doctor en Alaska o I'll Fly Away.
