El presidente del comité de disciplina de la UEFA, el austríaco Thomas Partl, ha calificado de "graves" los incidentes del partido entre el Austria de Viena y el Athletic de Bilbao y ha asegurado que en estos casos no hay perdón posible.
"Estos no son incidentes menores, sino graves", dijo Partl, que como austríaco no podrá tomar parte en la deliberación de la sanción, y avanzó que se conocerán muy pronto las medidas sancionadoras del comité de la UEFA, que se reúne a mediados de diciembre.
"Todo es posible, desde una abultada multa, pasando por un partido sin asistencia de público, hasta un cierre del estadio", declaró a los periodistas.
El encuentro tuvo que ser interrumpido en dos ocasiones, la primera por la humareda causada por el lanzamiento de bengalas, y la segunda por la invasión del terreno de juego por un grupo de ultras.
El gerente del Austria de Viena, Markus Kraetschmer, cree que la peor sanción será una fuerte multa y un cierre del estadio.
En concreto cifró en 200.000 a 250.000 euros lo que le costará al club cada partido que pueda ser sancionado a jugar sin público.
Kraetschmer cree que el Austria de Viena no será expulsado de las competiciones europeas porque "el partido se interrumpió, pero no se suspendió".
Por su parte, el árbitro noruego Svein Oddvar Moen aseguró que no había visto un comportamiento así en un terreno de juego.
"No me acuerdo de nada parecido, jamás había pasado por una cosa así", indicó el colegiado al diario noruego 'Verdens Gang'.
