El español Víctor Claver, del Pamesa Valencia, fue elegido con el número 22 por los Trail Blazers de Portland en el sorteo universitario de la NBA que se celebra en el Madison Square Garden, de Nueva York.
Claver, de 20 años, se convierte en el segundo jugador español que ha sido seleccionado en el sorteo, después de que el base Ricky Rubio se fue a los Timberwolves de Minnesota con el número cinco.
Si se queda con los Trail Blazers, el jugador español tendrá como compañero a sus compatriotas Rudy Fernández y Sergio Rodríguez, aunque este último podría ser traspasado durante el verano.
Si se quedasen los tres jugadores españoles con los Trail Blazers harían historia ya que serían la primera vez que un equipo de la NBA tiene a tres jugadores extranjeros de la misma nacionalidad juntos.
