El director ejecutivo del Manchester United, David Gill, reiteró hoy que el portugués Cristiano Ronaldo "se quedará" en el club de Old Trafford pese a las continuas especulaciones sobre su futuro a corto plazo.
En un acto en el que anunció que el campeón de Europa disputará en Nigeria un partido de exhibición contra el Portsmouth, ganador de la Copa inglesa, en julio -con fecha aún sin confirmar-, Gill volvió a hablar de Ronaldo, que está concentrado con la selección portuguesa para la Eurocopa mientras no cesan los rumores de su posible fichaje por el Real Madrid.
"Nuestra posición está clara. Sir Alex (Ferguson, técnico del equipo) y yo lo hemos dicho la pasada semana. Eso es todo. Esto es lo que vamos a decir sobre el asunto. Punto", señaló Gill con contundencia.
Gill también confirmó que Ronaldo, que la pasada temporada sumó 42 goles con la camiseta de los "diablos rojos", no viajará a Suráfrica o a Nigeria con el resto de la plantilla este verano, ya que se tomará vacaciones después de disputar la Eurocopa.
