Los ex número uno del tenis mundial, el español Carlos Moya, el chileno Marcelo Ríos y el ruso Yevgeny Kafelnikov, fueron confirmados hoy como parte del grupo de jugadores que participarán en el torneo de exhibición 'Seguros Bolívar Champions 2011 de tenis', que se disputará en Bogotá entre el 19 y el 22 de mayo próximo.
La presentación del torneo contó hoy con la presencia de Carlos Moya, quien fuera número uno del mundo en 1999, y quien ganó 20 torneos en el circuito profesional, antes de anunciar su retirada del tenis activo en noviembre de 2010.
Además de Moya, Ríos y Kafelnikov, fueron confirmados también el francés Fabrice Santoro, el actual campeón de este certamen, el sueco Thomas Enqvist, el australiano Mark Philippoussis, así como los colombianos Mario Rincón y Maurico Hadad.
El tenista español se mostró sorprendido, porque un torneo de esta calidad sea gratuito para el público.
"La verdad me sorprende que el torneo sea gratuito, pero es una buena manera de incentivar al público para que aprenda y le guste más el tenis", aseguró Moya en rueda de prensa.
Los participantes del torneo jugarán en dos grupos de cuatro, y los primeros de cada grupo se enfrentarán en la gran final para conocer al campeón.
