El equipo de Suiza, integrado por Melanie Annaheim, Nicola Spirig y Magali di Marco Messmer, se proclamó campeón de Europa por equipos de triatlón, al ganar el relevo disputado en la tarde de hoy, domingo, en Lisboa, en el que el equipo español concluyó en quinta posición.
Las suizas ganaron el oro en una prueba en la que cada relevista cubría 300 metros a nado en las aguas del Tajo, además de ocho kilómetros en bici y dos más de carrera a pie, en un circuito instalado en el Parque de las Naciones de la capital portuguesa.
Vanessa Fernandes, que ayer, sábado, festejó un quinto título continental consecutivo sin precedentes en la prueba de elite femenina, fue clave en la consecución de la medalla de plata para Portugal, cuyo trío se completó con Anais Moniz y Barbara Clemente.
Rusia concluyó tercera, por delante de la República Checa, en una prueba en la que las gallegas Aida Valiño y Pilar Hidalgo, así como la catalana Eva Ledesma lograron el quinto puesto para España.
