La Policía de Toulouse evacuó hoy una plaza de esa localidad después de haber recibido por teléfono una alerta de bomba en ese lugar, donde acababa de finalizar un mitin del candidato del Frente de Izquierda para las elecciones presidenciales francesas, Jean-Luc Melenchon.
Los medios franceses indicaron que los agentes recibieron la llamada poco antes de las nueve hora local (19 GMT), en un momento en el que debido a la lluvia, la mayoría de los simpatizantes, que ese partido cifró en 70.000, ya se habían ido.
Se trata de la misma plaza, la del Capitolio, en la que el pasado 23 de marzo un paquete sospechoso que resultó no ser peligroso obligó también a evacuar a los presentes y a establecer un perímetro de seguridad. Ese paquete, según explicó entonces un portavoz de la Policía, tenía el tamaño de una caja de zapatos y fue destruido mediante un método hidráulico.
En esa misma ciudad las fuerzas especiales habían abatido un día antes durante un extenso despliegue policial a Mohamed Merah, el francés de origen argelino de 23 años que confesó el asesinato de siete personas en Toulouse y en la vecina Montauban en nombre de la red terrorista Al Qaeda.
