El presidente de la Aviación Civil Italiana (ENAC, en sus siglas en italiano), Vito Riggio, anunció que Alitalia puede tener que dejar de volar dentro de unos diez días si no resuelve su actual situación de crisis económica, en declaraciones publicadas hoy por el periódico "Mf-Milano Finanza".
Riggio recordó al diario económico milanés que Aviación Civil está obligada a retirar la licencia a las compañías aéreas que presentan una crisis declarada, por lo que Alitalia tiene "una semana o diez días" para encontrar una solución.
Por ello, como se explicó en una nota, el ENAC convocó el próximo lunes a Augusto Fantozzi, comisario extraordinario de Alitalia, nombrado por el Gobierno para gestionar la crisis, ante la necesidad de analizar la situación.
En la reunión se estudiará "el mantenimiento de las licencias concedidas a Alitalia, Alitalia Express (de cargo) y Volare (la aerolínea de bajo coste), como prevén las normativas de la Unión Europea", añade la nota.
El presidente del ENAC reveló además que a Alitalia se le concedió una licencia provisional mientras negociaba su posible adquisición con la Compañía Aérea Italia (CAI), formada por un grupo de empresarios italianos que se habían mostrado disponibles a invertir 1.000 millones para adquirir la aerolínea.
Pero, tras semanas de negociaciones, la CAI retiró ayer su oferta después del rechazo a su plan industrial por parte de los sindicatos autónomos, acabando así con la única solución que existía para salvar de la quiebra a Alitalia.
La compañía aérea de bandera informó, por su parte, que actualmente se pueden reservar y adquirir billetes y que los vuelos siguen siendo regulares.
