El índice Nikkei de la bolsa de Tokio subió el lunes un 1,33 por ciento y cerró en máximos de cuatro meses después de que unos datos de producción mejores que lo pronosticado impulsaran las firmas manufactureras.
En tanto, las acciones de Sharp Corp ganaron más de un 2 por ciento tras sellar una licencia con un fabricante de piezas de resina y goma.
El Nikkei ganó 139,52 puntos y cerró en 10.634,23, su cierre más alto desde el 26 de agosto.
El más amplio Topix subió un 0,6 por ciento.
Apuntalando el ánimo alcista del mercado, antes del comienzo de la sesión los datos mostraron que la producción industrial de Japón creció un 2,6 por ciento en noviembre, más que lo esperado y el mayor incremento en seis meses.
"Los datos de producción industrial fueron más robustos que lo mercado esperaba y eso está reforzando el humor positivo. La relación estable yen/dólar también facilita elegir las acciones de exportadores", dijo Tsuyoshi Segawa, estratega de Mizuho Securities.
