Actualizado:
El presidente electo de EEUU, Barack Obama, y el presidente de la Comisión Europea, José Manuel Durao Barroso, recalcaron ayer su deseo de "cooperar en todas las políticas globales y bilaterales, incluido el medio ambiente", informó hoy el Ejecutivo comunitario.
El futuro inquilino de la Casa Blanca telefoneó ayer a Barroso y le propuso visitar EEUU, en tanto que el portugués le reiteró su invitación de celebrar un encuentro en Bruselas tan pronto Obama tome posesión, el próximo mes de enero.
Tras su elección el pasado 5 de noviembre, la Unión Europea ofreció a Obama una relación bilateral más fuerte para afrontar juntos los crecientes retos mundiales, dentro de un marco de acción multilateral.
