El portavoz del PP en el Parlamento vasco, Leopoldo Barreda, ha pedido hoy al PNV que se 'implique plenamente' en la lucha contra ETA y su entorno, y que deje de 'buscar excusas y poner cortapisas a todo'.
Según ha destacado en una entrevista en Radio Euskadi, sería 'deseable' que el partido nacionalista 'pusiera fin al discurso mantenido en los últimos siete u ocho años, por el que se opone a todo aquello que ha resultado eficaz para combatir a ETA'.
Como ejemplo, ha resaltado que en este momento 'sería deseable que el PNV se sumara al esfuerzo que supone la retirada de carteles relativos a ETA de las calles del País Vasco, en vez de dedicarse a debatir sobre competencias municipales en esta materia'.
Barreda también se ha referido al llamamiento efectuado ayer por el consejero vasco de Interior, Rodolfo Ares, a los ayuntamientos del País Vasco para que endurezcan los requisitos de apertura de txosnas (casetas festivas) en fiestas y no den permiso a aquellas que están para dar soporte social a ETA.
El dirigente popular ha aludido, en concreto, a las recientes fiestas de Bilbao y ha asegurado que el alcalde, Iñaki Azkuna (PNV), 'pudiera haber sido más claro y contundente, y haber prevenido, en vez de levantar la voz con posterioridad', por ejemplo, según ha dicho, en el momento de elegir a una hermana de un preso de ETA como 'txupinera'.
El Ayuntamiento de Bilbao, en su opinión, 'no ha sido el primero en hacer frente al desafío de Batasuna en las calles de la capital vizcaína'.
