El ministro del Interior, Jorge Fernández Díaz, informará esta tarde en el Congreso de las estadísticas de criminalidad correspondientes a 2011 y dará cuenta de los proyectos de su departamento en esta materia.
En su primera comparecencia el pasado 31 de enero en la Comisión de Interior del Congreso, Fernández Díaz anunció que haría público "al menos con carácter trimestral" y a través de la web del departamento los datos correspondientes a la media de los últimos doce meses por cada tipo de delito, cada comunidad autónoma y provincia.
Según el ministro, los ciudadanos deben tener la posibilidad de conocer "cuál es la criminalidad de su municipio o de su entorno urbano más próximo".
En 2010 se produjeron 45,1 delitos y faltas por cada mil habitantes, lo que supuso el nivel más bajo de los últimos años, a pesar del repunte que sufrieron los robos en viviendas, 39,5 por cada 100.000 viviendas, 3,1 más que en 2009.
El pasado 16 de marzo, el Sindicato Unificado de Policía (SUP) remitió una carta al ministro en la que le alertaba de la "colosal manipulación" que sufren estas estadísticas que reflejan una imagen de "falsa eficacia" de las Fuerzas de Seguridad.
La misiva relataba cómo en algunas comisarías hay policías "cuya misión" es llamar a las personas que han denunciado para intentar convencerles de que retiren sus denuncias o para que cambien sus declaraciones.
Respecto a la lucha contra la delincuencia, el ministro también avanzó en su primera intervención en el Comisión de Interior del Congreso que su departamento revisaría la estrategia para la lucha contra el crimen organizado y ajustaría la estructura de la Policía Judicial a las nuevas formas de criminalidad.
Fernández Díaz prometió que el Gobierno pondrá en marcha una Estrategia Nacional de Ciberseguridad, con mecanismos precisos para frenar esta amenaza creciente, y de forma específica el ciberterrorismo.
Para implementar esta estrategia global contra el cibercrimen, el titular de Interior aseguró que su departamento reforzará las unidades especializadas de la Policía y la Guardia Civil en delitos telemáticos, así como el Centro Nacional de Protección de Infraestructuras Críticas.
